UK Fuel Price Forecast

UK Fuel Price Forecast helps users find nearby filling stations, compare fuel prices, and view fuel-price forecasts. This policy explains what information the app uses and how it is handled.

Location information

The app uses your current location to find filling stations and fuel prices near you. Your location is sent to the UK Fuel Price Forecast service when a nearby-station search is performed.

If you enable notifications and app-icon fuel-price updates, the service also stores the most recent location used for that feature together with your selected fuel type and search radius. This allows the service to calculate relevant nearby fuel prices for your device.

The app does not provide a manual location-search alternative. You can stop the app using your location by changing its location permission in your device settings, although the app's main nearby-fuel functionality will then be unavailable.

Notifications and device identifiers

If you choose to enable notifications, Apple provides the app with an APNs device token. That token is sent to the UK Fuel Price Forecast service so that fuel-price badge updates and other enabled notifications can be delivered to your device.

The APNs token is a technical device identifier used for notification delivery. It is not used to create a user account or to identify you by name.

Fuel-price and filling-station data

Fuel-price and filling-station information is obtained from the UK Government Fuel Finder service and is processed by the UK Fuel Price Forecast service to provide nearby results, history and forecasts.

Fuel prices can change at any time. The app should therefore be treated as an information service rather than a guarantee of the price available when you arrive at a filling station.

Information we do not ask you to provide

The app does not require you to create an account and does not ask for your name, postal address, contacts, photographs, payment-card details or other profile information.

Sharing and sale of information

UK Fuel Price Forecast does not sell your personal information.

Information may be processed by infrastructure providers that are necessary to operate the service and by Apple where required to deliver notifications. Information may also be disclosed where required by law.

Data retention

Notification subscription information, including an APNs device token and the associated search context, is retained only for as long as reasonably necessary to provide and maintain the notification service. Updated app activity may replace the previously stored search context for that device.

Operational server logs may be retained for a limited period for security, reliability and troubleshooting purposes.

Your choices

You can change or withdraw location and notification permissions at any time in your device settings. Disabling location access prevents the app from providing its nearby fuel-price functionality. Disabling notifications prevents future notification and app-icon badge updates from being delivered.

Children

UK Fuel Price Forecast is not designed to collect personal information from children and does not provide account-based social or messaging features.

Security

Reasonable technical measures are used to protect information transmitted to and stored by the service. No internet-connected service can guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

This policy may be updated when the app or its data practices change. The latest version will always be published at this address and the effective date above will be updated.
